ABSTRACT

COVID-19 pandemic has made an enormous change in various aspects of society. One of it, is limitation to number of people in public place and physical contact called social distancing. Supermarket is one of the places affected by social distancing to minimize the spread of the virus. Trolley is one of the tools that mainly available to ease shopping process in supermarket but also the one that mainly get direct physical contact during shopping process. Therefore, as the world adapts with this condition, it is needed to develop a smart trolley that can help minimizing the spread of COVID-19 by reducing direct physical contact without abandoning customer satisfaction while shopping in supermarket. This smart trolley will automatically follow a specific customer using position localization method based on QR code mapping. The localization was implemented using computer vision while customer-following movement command distribution was implemented using IoT. By using unique and specific QR code, it will prevent wrong customer detection and wrong position mapping thus making this a reliable tracking mechanism and a reliable autonomous customer following system. © 2022 IEEE.

ABSTRACT

This paper presents an estimator of fractal signal sizes based on correlation fractal dimension as applied to auditory signals. Correlation fractal dimension has been proposed for characterization of signals coming from chaotic sources. Practical estimations are made possible using a Takens algorithm, producing different estimates in each embedding dimension. The estimator consists of four processes: (i) signal measures creation, (ii) covering-counting, (iii) critical-exponent estimation, and (iv) size calculation. We study the resulting estimates of controlled signals to validate the estimator as well as to come up with a calibration scheme. The paper further discusses a possible application of fractal sizes to characterize coughs to identify the presense of respiratory diseases, such as in Covid-19 pre-screening. © 2021 IEEE.

ABSTRACT

This paper presents a correlation fractal dimension characterization as applied to auditory cough signals. We have obtained cough samples from person with and without Covid-19 disease. Our hypothesis is coughs coming from Covid-19 disease exhibit fractal behavior. To show this, we apply fractal-size measurements on both samples. Preliminary results confirm fractality on Covid-19 cough signals. This result can improve performance of pre-screening for identification the presence respiratory diseases, such as Covid-19. © 2021 IEEE.
